| IBM Announces QLogic 16Gb HBAs for System x
IBM has announced the latest generation of QLogic HBAs – 16Gb. These full function adapters are the first true PCIe 3.0 HBAs in the IBM System x portfolio. They leverage the full performance capabilities of server platforms based on the new Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 product family. According to a recent Demartek evaluation report, PCIe 3.0 adapters perform over 15% better than the same adapter in a PCIe 2.0 version. These new QLogic adapters can support up to 1.2M IOPs (dual port).
QLogic 16Gb HBAs have a port isolation design that provides for greater reliability and better scalability. The performance increase, when combined with QLogic’s port isolation design gives customers the best performing, most reliable 16Gb HBA solution available for IBM System x.
